The midfielder from Maryland scored her five goals on six shots, while the 13 draw controls were one shy of the program and conference record set by Natalie Sulmonte in 2018. DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEKGillian Curran, ElonSenior | Midfield | Fair Haven, N.J. / Rumson Fair Haven RegionalCurran collected 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers over a 2-0 week with wins against Campbell and Furman. The midfielder from Maryland scored a career-best five goals on seven shots and added three ground balls and a caused turnover as the Tribe improved to 2-2 on the season. DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEKJess Smith, HofstraSenior | Goalie | West Babylon, N.Y. / West BabylonSmith recorded double-digit saves in a pair of Hofstra victories last week while holding both opponents to seven goals or less. The Maryland native put Delaware in front 5-4 with her first collegiate goal in the second quarter to help the Blue Hens to their first win of the season.
