From Notre Dame’s defensive clinic in Division I to Tufts extending its historic win streak in Division III, this week showcased the balance of power—and the growing parity—across the sport.
Division I College Lacrosse Notes
Notre Dame continues to look like the most complete team in the country, pairing an elite defense with efficient offensive execution. The Irish held Michigan to just four goals in a decisive 9–4 win, reinforcing their identity as a defense-first powerhouse.
Richmond is making just as strong a case near the top of the rankings. The Spiders opened Atlantic 10 play with authority, dismantling Delaware 17–5 behind a high-powered offense that is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous units in Division I.
Coming Up: The Irish and the Spiders face off on April 4th for what could be the best game of the season. The game is currently not being streamed.
Across the board, Division I is defined by structure and discipline right now—teams that can control tempo and limit mistakes are rising.
Division II College Lacrosse Notes
Division II saw some of the most lopsided—and impressive—results of the week. Adelphi delivered a statement with an 18–2 rout of Saint Michael’s, showcasing depth with 12 different goal scorers. That kind of balanced attack makes them a serious title contender.
Anderson matched that dominance, overwhelming Emmanuel with a performance that saw 15 different players find the back of the net. The Trojans’ offensive depth and pace are becoming a defining trait.
The theme in Division II is clear: the best teams aren’t just winning—they’re overwhelming opponents with depth and speed.

Division III College Lacrosse Notes
Tufts continues to sit atop Division III and, frankly, in a historically rarified air. The Jumbos extended their win streak to 35 games with a marquee victory over a top-ranked Christopher Newport squad at the Mustang Classic, proving they can win in high-pressure, elite matchups.
Lynchburg remains a major factor despite a narrow loss to Gettysburg, with standout performances continuing to come from key contributors like Hayden Hastings, whose record-setting outing earned ODAC Player of the Week honors.
Division III is as competitive as ever, with multiple teams capable of deep postseason runs—but Tufts remains the standard everyone is chasing.
