Jared Verse starred for UAlbany football in the shortened spring 2021 season and ensuing fall campaign, then shined for the ensuing two campaigns at Florida State. The Los Angeles Rams selected Verse at No. 19 overall.

Dylan Laube is also headed out West, going to the Las Vegas Raiders in the 6th Round at No. 208 overall. Laube is New Hampshire's first draftee since defensive tackle Jared Smith went to the Seattle Seahawks in the 7th Round in 2013.

Jared Verse Bursts Onto The Scene at UAlbany 

The entire college football-following nation learned everything UAlbany coach Greg Gattuso and his UAlbany staff recognized in Jared Verse when the defensive end was coming out of Central Columbia High School in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, and wasn't even on other Div. I programs' radars. 

Verse exploded in the spring 2021 with 10 tackles for loss, four sacks and a forced fumble in just four games on the way to being a Jerry Rice Award finalist. His two-sack, four-tackle for a loss performance against Rhode Island that season foreshadowed the monster autumn still to come.

A forced fumble, a sack and a tackle for loss in the fall 2021 season opener against perennial FCS national championship contender North Dakota State marked a fitting start to Jared Verse's campaign. 

He was dominant for the Great Danes, delivering three games with two sacks and racking up 9.5 for the season. Verse finished with 11.5 tackles for loss and 13 quarterback hurries in fall 2021, and 52 total tackles.

Jared Verse Emerges At Florida State  

UAlbany football coach Greg Gattuso has always been vocally supportive of Jared Verse's continued success since pursuing an opportunity at Florida State. Gattuso referred to Verse's instant difference-making presence at Florida State in 2022 as "a positive story from the transfer portal." 

In 2022, Verse made 48 tackles with for loss and nine sacks. His 2.5 TFL and two sacks in a Week 1 win over LSU commanded immediate attention from those who sleep on the FCS. Of course, those who followed the FCS and CAA already knew. 

And Jared Verse continued to reinforce his ability throughout his time in Tallahassee. In 2023, he again recorded nine sacks despite seeing more double-teams from opposing offenses and played a pivotal part in Florida State's pursuit of the College Football Playoff. 

Verse garnered FBS All-American recognition last season. 

Jared Verse With the Los Angeles Rams

From zero stars to a city known for stars, Jared Verse's remarkable rise continues with another unlikely yet unsurprising development. 

Verse joins a defensive line that was central to the Los Angeles Rams winning Super Bowl LVI, though the unit heads into 2024 replacing its most integral playmaker. Aaron Donald announced his retirement in March, creating a void up front. 

Verse should have an opportunity to contribute in a significant way right from the start. As he proved with both UAlbany and Florida State, he is uniquely adept at making a splash right from the jump. 

His size at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds can overwhelm opposing quarterbacks, and Verse's quick explosiveness off the line is a handful for linemen. 

He joins another former CAA star in Kobie Turner, who turned heads in his first season with the Rams. The ex-Richmond Spider built some Rookie of the Year talk in 2023, recording nine sacks at defensive tackle. 

RB Dylan Laube (New Hampshire), Las Vegas Raiders 

Dylan Laube Was The Most Versatile Playmaker in FCS 

Leading the nation in total yardage once is an impressive feat. Dylan Laube exited New Hampshire having done so twice in both 2022 and 2023. 

Laube's 194.33 all-purpose yards in 2022 were almost 23 more per game than the next-most productive player in the FCS. All Laube did in 2023 was increase his per-game all-purpose average to 209.5 yards, a staggering 41.4 more than No. 2 in the nation. 

With his ability to carry the ball as an every-down running back, catch passes both from the backfield and out of the slot, and his game-breaking special-teams presence, Dylan Laube played an all-around style reminiscent of other college stars like Reggie Bush or Christian McCaffrey before him. 

Laube's showing against Villanova last November ranks among the most individually impressive efforts seen in the CAA in recent memory. 

Dylan Laube Steals The Spotlight at The NFL Draft Combine 

Earning an invitation to the NFL draft combine is a show of respect to a player's abilities all on its own. That stage also offers a huge opportunity. 

Dylan Laube capitalized being on that stage with a performance that had NFL fans and media buzzing. Along with showing off his remarkable athletic ability. Laube demonstrated the fun-loving personality that made him a fan favorite throughout his UNH career. 

Crowds flock to Las Vegas every day looking for a good show, and Dylan Laube's built to bring the most exciting act in town to Allegiant Stadium.

Dylan Laube trades New Hampshire's navy-and-silver unis for the famed Silver and Black of the Raiders. While the color scheme differs a bit — and there aren't two more different places in the country than Durham and Las Vegas — Laube should be just as a home with the Raiders as he was the Wildcats. 

Laube joins a Raiders squad that is also welcoming a new offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy. Getsy arrives in the desert with a lengthy resume that includes working alongside another recent CAA star, former James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti, at Div. II Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

Getsy spent time with P.J. Fleck at Western Michigan and has worked in the NFL for the better part of a decade. Last season in Chicago, his offense made use of Roschon Johnson as the kind of Swiss Army Knife back that Dylan Laube has been throughout his career.
