The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Volleyball Players of the Week for matches played during the seventh week of the 2023 season. Lincoln Memorial’s Kristen Moehring was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Wingate’s Emily Johnson was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Moehring, a senior from Palm City, Fla., had a dominant offensive performance on the week, leading the Railsplitters with 55 kills on .235 hitting and averaging 4.58 kills per set. In Tuesday’s victory against UVA Wise, Moehring recorded 26 kills for .346 hitting percentage and added 18 kills with three blocks and a service ace on Saturday versus Newberry. She also recorded 11 kills on .259 hitting versus Wingate on Sunday. Moehring totaled 58.5 points on the week for Lincoln Memorial.

Johnson, a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colo., piled up 13 blocks on the week as the Bulldogs went 3-0 in league play. She also collected 27 kills in just 51 swings to hit .490. Johnson averaged 1.18 blocks per set to go along with her 2.45 kills per set. She had five blocks against Catawba, while hitting .571 with 12 kills. She added a block in the Tusculum win to go along with seven kills. Johnson piled up 7 blocks in the Lincoln Memorial sweep while hitting .500 with eight kills.
