With the MPSF's regular season coming to a close yesterday, the seeds for this weekend's postseason tournament at USC's McAlister Field are all set.
By winning its final two games against UC Davis and Stanford to finish 8-0 in conference play, USC locked down the No. 1 seed and will be rewarded with a first-round bye. At noon PST on Friday, the Trojans will play the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal matchup between fourth-seeded Oregon and fifth-seeded San Diego State. San Diego State finished the regular season with an identical conference record as California but earned the higher seed, thanks to its 14-13 overtime victory against the Golden Bears on March 26.
After beating St. Mary's 24-5 and California 18-6 in its last two regular season games, Colorado earned the second seed and a bye in the first round as well. At 4 pm on Friday, the Buffaloes will play the winner of Thursday's game between third-seeded Stanford, which lost to USC on Friday 15-12, and sixth-seeded California, which clinched its first berth in the MPSF tournament since 2013.
The winners of Friday's two semifinal games will get the day off on Saturday before meeting in the championship at 1 pm Sunday.
All the games will be streamed live on FloLive.tv on April 27, 28 and 30.
